The Rae-List: Janelle Monae, Maino, Fabolous, Stuy Babyz, Drumma Boy & Nipsey Hussle.

I Love Music. There’s nothing more I can say on the matter. I’m an 80’s baby who grew up during the iconic 90’s R&B era, which deems me musically ELITE. Argue with your therapist. The Rae-List will update weekly with new music that has made its way onto our RAE-DAR, and hopefully YOURS!

First stop, WONDALAND!

Fun fact, Janelle Monae, was my FIRST EVER celebrity interview. She’s always embraced me with loving arms, and I’m incredibly thankful and grateful. Her music will always have a home in this space.

With that said, music’s foremost freeass muthafucka, is back in action with the release of her highly-anticipated single, “Float”, featuring horns by Seun Kuti + Egypt 80. “Float” lives up to its name as Janelle slides over the track with her silky vocals and some bars. You heard that right, BARS! The single is available now via Wondaland Arts Society/Atlantic Records HERE. Listen to it below.

Let’s head to Brooklyn, shall we? My brother MAINO dropped his first new single and video called "Best Of Me" off of his anticipated album KOB 4, set to release this spring. He linked up with his longtime brother and fellow Brooklyn native, Fabolous, and his new rap duo Stuy Babyz with Grammy-winning producer Drumma Boy.

Best of me is available on all streaming platforms.

Peep the video below.

And last but DEFINITELY not least, let’s shoot to Cali. The life and musical legacy of the late, great Nipsey Hussle (who I had the pleasure of meeting thanks to my sister, Karen Civil), is being commemorated with the fifth anniversary of his landmark, now RIAA 2x Platinum-certified debut album, Victory Lap, available everywhere via All Money In/Atlantic Records HERE.

Long live his memory. The Marathon Continues.
