The Rae-Cap: The Real Housewives of Atlanta: Season 14 Episode 1
Oh, how I’ve missed doing recaps! The moment we’ve all been waiting for is here! This Sunday, Bravo premiered the newest season of The Real Housewives of Atlanta. And the ladies did NOT Disappoint!
Porsha and Cynthia may be gone, but the show must go on!
First, let’s get into the cast.
Marlo Hampton.
Our girl FINALLY got her peach!!!! After being a friend of the show for several seasons, Marlo is OFFICIALLY a peach holder, and the show took no time stepping into her story. The show opens up giving fans a window into her world as a “Muntie.” Marlo is the caregiver for her two teen nephews, and the opening scene really displayed the love she has for them, and vice versa. The rest of the show was dedicated to Marlo’s first event as a peach holder, the debut event for her luxury showroom, Le’ Archive. Marlo’s fashion took center stage, and what would be a Marlo event without having to gather a girl or two. And no, Kenya didn’t show up with a drumroll.
Kandi Burruss.
'“I ain’t never skipped a beat or a bag!” Kandi’s new tagline really says it all. Holding the position as the current longest-standing cast member, Kandi is back and you can already tell that she’s going to be the nucleus that holds these ladies together.
Kenya Moore.
Fresh off of her stint on Dancing with The Stars, a teary-eyed Kenya opens her scene a little blue after being eliminated. Now, although Ken didn’t bring home the trophy, it looks as if she did bring home a prize. And that prize comes in the form of her former dancing partner for the show, Brandon Armstrong. We’re keeping tabs.
Drew Sidora.
It looks like Drew is going to spend yet another season being embarrassed by her husband on national TV. Enters, ‘MassageGate.” In a nutshell, Ralph’s assistant (who’s kinda fired) offered to give him a massage, and Drew doesn’t think he replied to her in the appropriate manner. If you remember, this is the same Ralph that disappeared on her for several days without communication. His excuse? "I needed to get away," he said during that season’s reunion. "The beach is like my place of refuge." Good luck Drew.
Sheree Whitfield
Sheree is back, and THIS TIME she’s bringing She By Sheree with her! Joggers anyone? The only cast member returning from the original cast, Sheree is back with her family, and we can’t wait to see what she’s been up to. Now from the upcoming previews, it appears as if her incarcerated lover, Tyrone hit the streets and then ghosted her. But the upcoming episodes will reveal that soon enough. Nonetheless, we are excited to see her with a peach in her hand.
Sanya Richardson -Ross
This season’s newbie, four-time Olympic gold medalist, Sanya Richardson-Ross, already appears to be the perfect addition to the crew. Hailing from Jamaica, Sanya now resides in Atlanta, and already has ties to both Kandi and Drew. She doesn’t appear to be a pushover in the least, and it’s not hard to tell that if you come for her, she’s returning that same energy. Let the season begin!
