InspiRAEtion: 5 Steps for Creating an Intention Board

Happy New Year!

This new year is all about Intention. So you know we’re here to help everyone meet those intentional goals. An intention is an idea that you plan (or intend) to carry out. That said, we are moving from a Vision Board to an Invention Board this year. This board focuses on places and spaces you intentionally want to be in, connections and collaborations you’d intentionally like to have, people you intentionally want to be in the company of, and goals you intentionally want to achieve.

If you mean something, it’s an intention. This year, let’s dream it, mean it, scream it, team it and beam it! Here are 5 steps for creating a bomb Intention Board.

1. Reflect on Your Intentions - Start by journaling or meditating on what you want this year to be about. Ask yourself:

• What places or spaces do I want to intentionally spend time in?

• What types of connections and collaborations do I want to foster?

• Who are the people I want to intentionally surround myself with?

• What specific goals do I want to achieve?

Be as clear and specific as possible, and write down your thoughts to guide your vision.

2. Gather Supplies

Collect materials to bring your intention board to life, including:

• A large piece of poster board, corkboard, or canvas

• Magazines, printed photos, or visuals representing your intentions

• Scissors, glue, pins, or tape

• Markers, stickers, or any decorative elements for personalization

Side Bar: We also use Canva to create a digital intention board - retrieving our images from the internet beforehand and placing the finished product as the wallpaper on our laptops and smart devices.

3. Curate Visuals and Words

Search for images, quotes, and words that resonate with your intentions. Focus on visuals that evoke the feelings and energy you want to experience in the places, spaces, and relationships you intend to cultivate. You can also write out your goals and affirmations to include on the board.

4. Arrange with Intention

Lay out the visuals on your board before attaching them. Group similar elements together, such as:

• Places and Spaces: Travel destinations, cozy homes, or creative environments

• Connections and Collaborations: Photos or symbols representing meaningful partnerships

• People: Pictures, names, or traits of people you want in your life

• Goals: Words, numbers, or symbols representing what you want to achieve

Arrange them in a way that feels natural and inspiring to you.

5. Activate and Revisit Your Board

Once complete, place your intention board somewhere you’ll see it regularly. Take a moment each day to reflect on it and connect with your intentions. As the year progresses, revisit your board to check in, celebrate achievements, and adjust as necessary to keep your focus clear and intentional.
