A Letter From The Editor: Welcome To A New Site. Welcome To A New Year. Welcome To RaeHolliday.com

I’ve been sitting on this site for quite some time. Am I a bit of a perfectionist? Facts. But It’s my gift, no curse. That’s because the “bit” keeps me from thinking anything will ever be perfect. Because it never is.

When I set out to finally step out and execute this passion project, I knew the biggest obstacle would be me. And it was. You see, being an intricate part of the good ole Blog Days, adds a certain amount of pressure to this endeavor. Pressure from who? Pressure from me.

But we are here now.

RaeHolliday.com is an individual extension of the lifestyle blog I co-created with Gabriel Williams, Stuff Fly People Like. SFPL was the perfect mixture of Fashion, Music and Entertainment. We created one hub, because as consumers we were exhausted with having to visit standalone sites for each category. So we created the solution.

Following the same process, I often have to swim through the pages of Google to find stories dripping in Black Excellence on a local level. I can always find a celebrity donating to a worthy cause, or a well-known entertainer creating an organization geared towards improving their neighborhoods of origin and the minorities who reside there. And although that’s amazing, and will be highlighted here as well, I need more. I want to hear about the folks from the trenches, whose circumstances motivated them to create and build wonderful products, brilliant services, and fascinating new avenues of creativity.

I want to hear about entrepreneurs who always knew their calling was different than the roads their parent’s presented to them. I want to be proud of the content I post. I want to be proud of the people I post. I want to amplify Black Hollywood. Black Voices. Black Music.  Black Businesses. Black Lifestyles. Black People.

So you’ll get some new music. You’ll get some evolution. You’ll get some reviews and interviews. You’ll get some good style. You’ll get a few think pieces lol. But most importantly, you’ll get you some US. Loud and Proud.

But, Don’t laugh too hard tho, because my humor is included.

Let The Journey Begin!
